of The Zaban Couples Center is to assist couples
transitioning from homelessness to resettlement and
independence by providing shelter, basic necessities
and counseling services. The Center is committed to
providing a supportive and encouraging environment
for residents as they work to become contributing
members of our community.
Open annually from October 15-April 30, the Center provides housing and
two meals daily for 22 homeless couples. Each couple is provided a private
bedroom, linens and laundry supplies. Residents are required to attend AA
and NA meetings held in the Center. In lieu of paying a fee to reside at the
Center, couples are assigned basic chores on a rotating basis. Additionally,
residents are linked with social service providers to help them break the
cycle of homelessness.
SUPPORTIVE
First of all I have to say thank you very very much. Having to go through homelessness for the first time has been very stressful, but the people here at Zaban has made it bearable to the extent that I can look to the future with high hopes. The budgeting class has played a major part in this. By putting the principles into action that I've learned has taken away most of the fear of my financial future regardless of these hard times we're living in today. Thanks again for the clean safehaven. It has meant a lot to us.
